In the Wordless Functional Analyses of the critic and broadcaster Hans Keller, performers play musical interludes that weave between the movements of a concert work and explore relationships and contrasts found in that piece. In a special CMS Seminar event, the Chilingirian Quartet and Clarinettist Andrew Marriner perform Keller’s analysis of Mozart’s beloved Clarinet Quintet. After the analysis, Cambridge PhD Candidate Nicky Swett will discuss the psychological theory of musical similarity and difference at work in Keller’s creations. Q&A session and reception to follow.
